Grand Junction— Officials at MarillacHealth were notified the organization has earned four prestigious quality designations. The nation’s Health Resources & Services Administration announced various quality improvement awards in the areas of Access, Quality, Health Equity and Health Information Technology, with Marillac achieving improvement in four areas.

  • Marillac’s Access Advancer award recognized the organization’s growth – expanding its patient population from 9,800 patients in 2022 to 13,512 patients in 2023
  • Health Disparities Reducer award gives a nod to Marillac’s progress in health outcomes in at least two areas for one or more racial or ethnic groups
  • Advancing Health IT award recognized Marillac for its progress in utilizing technology in its delivery of healthcare
  • Addressing Social Risk Factors was awarded for ongoing work in gathering social risk information from patients to help support optimal health outcomes

Marillac serves low-to-middle income families and is known for making healthcare affordable as it offers sliding fee discounts for qualifying patients. While most patients reside in Mesa County, about 20% of patients reside in the Montrose/Delta area, where they are served through PIC Place, Marillac’s newest clinic.

Quality Director, Carol Coates commented on Marillac’s progress, “MarillacHealth is committed to continuous quality improvement in every way possible. We are honored to be recognized for several of the many ways we strive to improve access and delivery of quality health care for our community.”
